What We Do
We specialize in residential arts programs to stimulate a growth in global contemporary arts and develop intercultural relationships. We facilitate an exposure with nature, which may create a deeper alignment where artist, landscape and the art can become intrinsically linked. Our 360 Degrees Sculpture Residential in The Gambia encourages artists to challenge themselves in their conscious choice of material and to explore traditional methods and process of making.
Ethics and Principles
We base our ethics and principles on models such as Permaculture, and particularly Social Permaculture. Our ethical values are in alignment with care for the earth, people, spirituality and a fare share of abundant resources. Our principle are to adopt a culture of conscious design, respect indigenous wisdom and diversity in culture, be authentic and transparent, share empowerment and promote holistic development.
Our long term aim is to work in partnership with local people and businesses in the rural Gambian village of Kartong to building an arts academy for creative expression, contemporary and traditional arts, artists residencies, cultural exchange and learning through play. The term Play is defined as 'behavior which is freely chosen, personally directed and intrinsically motivated'. The space will be consciously designed to promote and support permaculture.
